Veterans Day

The members UMass Lowell community will be engaging in a Veterans Day Celebration and Flag Raising Ceremony on Wednesday, November 9th at 10:30a.m. As a precautionary measure we would like to inform you as area residents, that this event will be followed by a flyover of Air Force F-15s at 11:30a.m. This portion of the event will be very brief, yet extremely loud.

UMass Lowell diligently serves the more than 500 students who are veterans and has been selected for a second time as a “ Military Friendly School ” by G.I. Jobs Magazine; we are one of only three public universities in Massachusetts to earn this designation. The Military Friendly Schools’ list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and schools that are doing the most to embrace America ‘s veterans as students.

In honor of our student veterans and the veterans of our nation, we commend their courage and valor; as such we feel that a flyover of Air Force F-15’s is a token of the esteem and admiration that we at UMass Lowell hold for our veterans.
