Meet at Mack Plaza
THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU
to all the volunteers who helped!
The Lowell Downtown Neighborhood Association is planning a spring clean up for Saturday April 23, 9 AM to Noon – focusing on Mack Plaza, the Victorian Garden and Dutton St. The city will be street sweeping later (where there is no parking).
Keep Lowell Beautiful is providing brooms, shovels and rakes. They have some gloves. Please bring your bags for trash. We compost leave in the Victorian garden. KLB has some clear bags for recyclables.
If you want to borrow brooms and shovels for your area, let me know. KLB may be able to help. The City will pick up bags on Monday if they are accessible to a dump truck. Don’t over fill the bags they have to be throw up onto the truck which is about 6 feet up. Try composting the organic material and bag the trash.

And some wonderful students from UML made their way all along the Riverwalk and Lucy Larcom Park…
And some neighbors who have not even moved in yet. Steve Carlin
Park Supervisor, MA Dept. of Conservation and Recreation who will be moving into the Mack Building in June brought along a group of volunteers and made our little sanctuary The Victorian Garden as beautiful as it has ever been.

Support the Community Gardens Greenhouse, United Teen Equality Center (UTEC), and other local farmers and non-profits while getting fresh fruits and vegetables for you and your family!
World PEAS is a non-profit cooperative that combines produce from several small farmers in and around Lowell to provide a diverse box of veggies each week, suitable for a family of four or five (small sizes also available for smaller families). Each week of the season (18 weeks with optional holiday boxes), farmers harvest their vegetables the night before or morning of delivery. They are then packed fresh along with a newsletter with recipes and delivered to convenient pickup locations in the area. By joining the World PEAS CSA, you will get superbly-fresh produce at reasonable prices while supporting your local, small, beginning, and immigrant farmers enrolled with the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project. Get information and local CSA news atwww.worldpeascsa.org
For more information and a list of pickup locations, e-mail Matthew Himmel at mhimmel@comteam.org or call 978-654-6745. If you have a suggestion for a pickup location and there is sufficient interest (around 25 shares), we would be happy to deliver there as well.
